Latitude and Longitude Definitions

Latitude - The angular distance north or south of the earth's equator
Measured in degrees along a meridian, as on a map or globe
Measures 0-90
Always written first

Longitude - Angular distance on the earth's surface, measured east or west from the prime meridian. 
Measures 0-180
Always written second
  
Absolute location - the exact spot where something is on the earth. An example would be the longitude and latitude of a place.

Relative Location- a point or place in relation to another point or place

Ex. Milwaukee is South of Green Bay
